The 2010 Itinerary
Tuesday,
Sept. 14: Arrive by noon at Toulouse Blagnac airport in
beautiful Languedoc, Southwest France for your coach pick up at 1 pm.
Our driver and I will be there to greet you. There is a meet and greet
area with plenty of seating next to the INTERNATIONAL baggage claim
area. Please plan for flight arrivals by noon or earlier on the 14th
(departing US the 13th!). Since Toulouse is a small airport, it does
not take long to pass through customs and baggage. Some people prefer
to arrive a day or two early to recover from jet lag. There are plenty
of hotels in Toulouse available online, but we still meet at the airport
at noon on the 14th.
We have a two
hour journey in our private coach through the wine country to our home
in the luscious hills of the Languedoc. We will stop in the beautiful
plaza in Limoux for lunch on the way.
We will stay
for five nights at the picturesque retreat Les Labadous on the River
of Colors right below the hilltop village of Rennes le Chateau. We will
have dinner there prepared by our hostess Joke (pronounced Yokah). We
will have a brief orientation and harp lullabies to send you to dreamland.
(Dinner tonight is included in tour price. All breakfasts during the
tour are included).
Wednesday,
Sept. 15: Morning sharing circle, chanting and music. Walking
the land and seeing various possible walking paths during our days here.
At noon we drive to nearby Rennes le Chateau to meet with Henry Lincoln
for lunch at the Jardin de la Marie garden restaurant. (No host lunch.
You have your choice on the menu, about €8-€12) Henry is best
known as a co-author of Holy Blood, Holy Grail, and for his pioneering
work on the harmonious landscape and pentagram formed by the nearby
churches.
We visit the
coded chapel dedicated to Mary Magdalene, Tour Magdala, her tower, and
Villa Bethania built by the village priest Berenger Sauniere. Henry
will demonstrate the pentagram geometry and alignments of the sites
of this sacred landscape. (Dinner 7 pm included in tour price at Les
Labadous).
Thursday,
Sept. 16: Depart 10 am. Morning drive to nearby Rennes
les Bains, famous for its Roman baths and healing thermal springs dedicated
to Isis. (Take a bathing suit today, weather permitting!) We will hike
and chant to the Roche Tremblant (the vibrating stone of the ancient
Celts and Druids). We visit the powerful Seat and Well of Isis for an
initiation and remembering of our sacred contract with the Great Mother.
We will be giving
thanks and songs and gathering waters at all the ancient wells on our
journey and everyone will be able to take these waters home at the end
of the pilgrimage. The ancient spring here is red with iron content,
which occurs at many sites sacred to the ancient people. We will give
the beauty of song to give thanks this timeless place of the Goddess.
No host lunch in the pleasant town square with Henry Lincoln. After
lunch we are free to visit the RLB Church yard with Henry, walk along
the river or soak in the thermal pools. We have time to rest and contemplate
here. (No host dinner in the square at RLB) Return to Les Labadous.
Friday,
Sept. 17: Morning short drive through Alet les Bain to
the village and chapel of Sainte Salvayre. I will not try to describe
the energies of this ancient shrine, and save it for your direct experience.
We will have music, chanting and meditation in this special chapel.
A walk to the nearby ancient menhir (standing stone) gives wonderful
views of the valley.
Picnic lunch
on the island in Alet. After lunch, we visit the famous Basilica. Alet
was a Medieval Kaballah teaching center and sits on the beautiful River
Aude, also the name of this entire region. We visit the home of Nostradamus
with its fascinating Templar carvings. We will honor Alet’s ancient
spring to replenish our water. (No host dinner at Eveche restaurant
(the old bishopric).
Saturday
Sept. 18: Morning drive Campagne les Bain to the double
red springs, womb of the Great Mother. Water blessing and gathering
of the iron rich magnetic waters. Then we continue to the troubadour
castle of Puivert with unicorn tapestries, harp and troubadour tales
in the chapel. We walk in the Druid Wood and natural labyrinth at Nebias
to commune with the elementals and nature spirits with harp music at
the famous harp tree. Picnic lunch in the mysterious natural labyrinth.
We will return
to Rennes le Chateau to join our Knights Templar friends Toby and Gerda
Dobler in their private garden next to the Merovingian castle in RLC
for a farewell to Le Valdieu dinner.Toby will give a short presentation
on his Templar Order of Mary Magdalene. (Dinner is included in tour
price). Return to Les Labadous to pack our bags for our next five days
at Collieure on the sea and the Pyrenees. (Les Labadous prepares picnic
lunches for us).
Sunday
Sept. 19: Drive to Bugarach, the sacred mountain of Jules
Verne fame and through the beautiful countryside to the spectacular
Gorge de Galamus cliffs and deeply carved river valley. Here we visit
the Hermitage of St. Antoine which is carved into the steep cliff face
with the magic square coded Sator Rotas Templar carving. Potluck picnic
lunch at Galamus. We drive to the medieval Templar port of Collieure
for two nights on the Mediterranean. (No host dinner at our hotel, and
there are also plenty of choices for local seafood--dinner on our own)
Monday
Sept. 20: Collieure was an important Templar site and the
fortress ruins are some of the most well-preserved in France. This quaint
town was a strategic seaport and most likely the site of a temple to
Isis. The local church has unusual images of St. Lucy, Martha and Mary
Magdalene and ornate gold decor typical of the Catalan region. This
is a free day to explore the Templar ruins, shop or lounge on the beach.
(Dinner on our own at hotel or in town). Everyone buys picnic food for
Tuesday at St. Michel picnic.
Tuesday
Sept. 21: Morning departure to drive into the wild Pyrenees,
mysterious mountain range of many grail secrets. This was the path of
countless pilgrims on the road to Compostela, meaning ‘field of
stars’. Some say the Pyrenees mirror the path of stars in the
milky way. We visit the 10th century monastery at St. Michel de Cuxa
with its ancient wooden Madonna in the unusual round chapel. (The medieval
carvings in the cloister garden here were used to create The Coisters
exhibition at the MET in New York!) We will walk to the nearby Sun Stone
for an attunement. This is the site of an ancient temple at the foot
of Mount Canigou. We will gather water at the St. Michael spring.
We drive through
the spectacular Pyrenees, viewing medieval fortresses of the kings of
France along the way to Tarascon Sur Ariege. Evening meal in Tarascon,
on the Ariege River. (No host dinner)
Wednesday
Sept. 22 Autumn Equinox: Buy picnic food in town. Morning
departure to visit to Our Lady of Sabart Church with a shrine and wonderful
relief art of Mary Magdalene. Continuing deeper into the Pyrenees, we
drive through the Vicdessos valley to Sem, the ancient dolmen altar
that looks toward the grail castle of Montreal de Sos and Mount Canigou.
This stone forms an alignment to key places in this grail valley. Here
we will have our Equinox ceremony, looking out over the entire valley
to the Pyrenees. (The exact equinox is at 5:30 am the next day, however
the ancient cultures honor the eve before—we have two days of
equinox, full moon celebrations!).
We drive on
past the Castle of Miglos, a medieval fortress guarding the valley entrance.
Journeying deeper into the Pyrenees, we picnic at the base of the ancient
castle of Montreal de Sos. Cathar researcher Antonin Gadal and local
historian said that this was an important Knight Templar site with its
enigmatic grail paintings. Eve of Full Moon rise over the River Ariege
in Tarascon. Optional walk up to the tower for moon watch. (Dinner in
Tarascon on our own).
Thursday
Sept. 23 (Exact Full Moon 11:17 am): Buy picnic food in
morning before departing to Ussat. We drive three kilometers to Ussat
les Bain to visit the Iglesia, one of several Sabartes Cathar caves
of this narrow river canyon. Our guide is Christian Koenig, expert in
Cathar history and medieval music. We will have a Aries—Libra
Full Moon meditation and we will hear Christian’s haunting flute
music in the acoustical magic of the caves.
Picnic lunch
along the river and in the afternoon, walk to the Cathar Bethlehem cave
of initiation with its natural pentagram wall and altar stone. Return
to Tarascon hotel for packing and farewell celebration dinner, which
is included in tour price.
Friday
Sept. 24: Morning drive to Toulouse airport for departure
flights. We will arrive at Blagnac International Airport by 8:30 am.
This is a small airport, so check-in and security are normally quick.
I am all that is, all
that has been and ever shall be. There is no power that can separate
us!
